Blood Bank of Alaska
The new 56,000-sf facility which opened in early 2016 includes a BSL 3 laboratory space designed to meet federal regulatory requirements for the separation of testing and non-tested blood as well as specialized space for cellular therapies and hospital transfusion work. The donor collection space is designed to enhance workflow to allow donors to move in a circular pattern from start to finish, create sightlines, and protect donor privacy.
Working closely on design feasibility, value engineering and space planning with local architect Livingston Slone, SBI provided turnkey solutions to provide laboratory equipment and administrative furnishing and storage needs at the Blood Bank of Alaska.
